IMMUNOLOGY

Dr Uvi has a special and keen academic interest within infectious diseases and immunology from childhood to late teen/early adulthood.

His interest has remained largely translational whereby he personal feels (through his own health experiences) that there is very poor translation from basic sciences to the bedside of the patient. This has largely left patients feeling very disillusioned over many decades, especially over the past 2 years.

Having been a patient with MDR TB and later severe COVID-19 disease, Dr Uvi saw first hand with his dad and sister (both physicians) the stark gaps that continue to exist in modern South African healthcare. These gaps continue to hamper healing end-points.

Collaborating with local experts within Europe largely and South Africa, Dr Uvi hopes to assist lending support, enabling quicker diagnoses and assist choosing the safest, most patient-centred approaches.

All approaches will be purposed as part of a multi-disciplinary team – a common sense ideal that has largely gone astray in private practice today.
