LONG COVID
WHAT IS IT?
Long Covid, an entity which we have possibly wrongly placed all under one definition, has many more questions than answers today.
Long Covid, Post-Acute Sequalae of Covid (PASC) and Long-Haulers are terms that intersect in a fraction of patients weeks following COVID infection, whether mild or severe. Debilitating symptoms plaguing many patients include severe fatigue, breathlessness (dyskinetic breathing), and neurocognitive deficits, including mind fog.
Many patients find themselves feeling socially isolated, unheard and with little empathy from healthcare systems to acknowledge their symptoms as true. While we are still battling to understand the mechanisms of Long Covid, the majority of published clinical guidelines are largely focused on symptom dampening. Promising novel therapies and multiple explorative trials are underway but these take time.
The lack of awareness by clinicians and lack of advice available have forced many patients to search far and wide for alternative treatments.
AT the Long Covid Centre, Dr Uvi has had to find ways of alleviating symptoms within himself as well as with many patients over the past 2 years. Bringing in tailored therapies from Austria, Germany and Switzerland, he has found a safe and scientifically plausible strategy to help alleviate symptoms with his rehabilitation team. He is optimistic that in years to come, there will be many more answers than questions. Some work to support and help patients urgently needs to be addressed now too.
Our Centre prefers long consultations to explore each patients symptoms. Aligned through thorough clinical examination by the medical doctor and allied health team (and accompanied by laboratory immunological investigations) tailored-made regimens are constituted in the form of oral, intravenous medical formulations and paced exercise. Active meditation and pranayama (practice of breath regulation) will be foundation at every level.
Pricing for intravenous and oral medications are tailored per patient signs, symptoms and relevant laboratory results.
